Say yes to juice…here’s why

There’s no doubt you will feel on top of the world after a juice plan, but can you be sure that such cleanses are healthy? In short, yes, yes, you can.

More energy, better sleep, glowing skin, fewer sugar cravings, are all benefits of a juice cleanse.  Ask yourself, would you turn that down?

“I don’t need more energy or glowing skin,” said nobody, ever.

Juice cleanses are nothing new, juicing plans and fasts have been around for hundreds of years in one form or another. Emerging studies are showing that juice cleansing is a powerful and effective way to keep the body’s systems in check.

UCLA recently published research on the benefits of a three-day juice cleanse. They found a cleanse not only helps create beneficial gut bacteria, but it also promotes weight loss and general well-being.

The same UCLA study also found that a three-day juice cleanse promoted heart health by reducing body weight and decreasing lipid peroxidation while increasing nitric oxide. So far, so good for the juice cleanse.

So, in non-medical terms, what can a juice plan do for you? We’ve broken down the benefits below.

Reset your gut

IBS? Bloating? Sensitive stomach? Food intolerances? A juice plan can help reset your digestive system by giving your gut a break from the toxins it has to cope with daily.

How? When you drink only cold-pressed, raw fruit and vegetable juice, you’re reducing the number of ingredients and food groups which could cause digestive stress. This short break allows your body to rejuvenate and recharge.

Boost energy levels

Within the first two days of a juice cleanse, you’ll start to feel a wave of difference in your energy.

Juice cleansing floods your body with nutrients in their natural state, creating lasting, clean energy; not the ups and downs and crashes we can get from coffee and sugar.

With cold-pressed juice, the enzymes and nutrients are freed from fibre, allowing them to be quickly processed by your body.

Inflammation no more

Studies have shown that juice cleanses followed by a plant-based diet can reduce inflammation in your body.

Your body responds to all of these toxins with inflammation. When you clean things up and cut out toxins, while at the same time adding the beneficial nutrients readily available in the cold-pressed juice, you’re giving your body a great chance at reducing inflammation.

We’re living in a time of chronic inflammation which is caused by the air we breathe, the processed foods in our diet and the products that we use around the home.

What’s more, eating a plant-based diet has been linked to reducing allergies, arthritis, IBS and even cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases.

Healthy weight loss

Juice cleanses can be the kickstart you need for healthier habits. When you remove harmful, toxic, and processed foods, and replace them with natural plant-based products, you could naturally lose weight.

Some of the extreme weight loss stories people see from juice cleanses will be due to water retention, but if you can maintain a plant-based diet following your cleanse, you could see a sustained weight loss.
